    Hello all,

For my inaugural forum post I thought I might present a recent acquisition. Officer's M43 cap in excellent, probably un-issued, condition. No maker's mark or label, but a very faint '55' ink stamp to the inner crown. I decided to post this in particular as its almost brand-new condition, naturally, provokes a certain uneasiness with regards to authenticity, though the plunge was taken. Either way, I look forward to your opinions. And thank you for having me on the forum!

Also, apologies in advance for my (lack of) photography expertise. I've tried to get good, high-resolution shots for perusal, but can re-take any as needed, better light etc.

A great looking cap, I would have taken the plunge as well!

Is this posted on FB in the Military Collectables group?

I've only posted it here; I don't use FB.

    Not for sale .
They are just asking for opinions on if original.

Here are the pic's. I noticed it's the same material.

The sweat band is what got me looking at it and thinking WOW that really looks like that one I just saw on WRF.

So I thought I would ask.

Hmm -- almost identical. But I notice the totenkopf on that particular example is different (one row of teeth instead of two, if I'm seeing correctly?). Also ink-stamp in a different spot. Still, almost twins.

Thanks - I see on this one, again, that the totenkopf has a single row of teeth, whereas the one on mine has two, and generally looks more similar to the metal version one finds on caps. Just differences in makers/production runs I presume?

What are the odds of three seemingly 'mint' and very similar examples turning up for sale? Just a thought.

    Cheers,
    Steve
