hi just wondering has anyone ever seen a smock like this in a collection
Personally, I havent, but that doesnt mean there isnt one out there.
It looks like one that is "unit tailor made" from a "pull-over" camouflage smock that was possibly damaged, (a fairly common activity among all armies) or to make it more practical than having to run the lacing up each time.

Soldiers always wear unregulation uniforms like this NCO, I know a winter Anorak with ZIP in private hand,but I have no photos.

ye it could of been done for any reason really i reenact a mg42 gunner and when im on the move with the mg it will always snag on the laces of the smock
so when you have to drop and set the mg up in a hurry it can be a pain

they are on a reenacting forum im on there is one or two more photos of smocks done like this just put the photos up here to see if any survied the war
