Further photograph's.... the first one shows the helmet before careful cleaning. At this stage I could not make out the shell size stamp.
After careful cleaning with beeswax and fine wire wool the size stamp is now readable, and as I said in my first post - what I saw created problems for me because I am fully aware that helmets made by this particular manufacturer only went up to size 66 (as far as we know from current available information).
Any forum members with helmets that are stamped with Si 66 please measure the circumference in cm and let me know what you find. regardless of whether that stamp on my helmet shell turns out to be '66' or '68' I want to know why it measures at 67.5cm instead of 65.5cm or 66cm!
