I actually viewed this one last night on eBay.
An original shell which looks good inside.
I would ask the seller for more high res closeups of the paint as the period of application cannot be discerned from these photos.

I agree with the guys comments. The black lines are too clinical and smooth IMO. The original application was done by broad brushes if available or even with fingers or whatever was to hand in the field. I don't think many were commercially painted. bear in mind the M18 didn't come out till Aug 1918 onwards so original cammo versions are very rare. handle with care but you never know. The internals look good btw. Chin strap should be dated 1918 if not it is possibly a 1920's replacement. cheers Tony
