Hi Matt,
That is an amazing piece and a very poignant reminder of how vulnerable soldiers were against the storm steel they faced on the Battlefields of WW1. Looks like a smaller size helmet such as a 62. Hard to say with BD helmets whether KIA or not especially without the liner but certainly a real survivor from the front. Great photos too!
Can you see who the manufacturer is?
Thanks for showing.
Andy
WOW you are good :P It is indeed a BF62. Thank you so much for the comment. As a Canadian I hold it dear- Passchendaele was Hell on Earth, and this piece means alot to my collection.
Hello Matt,
Great Helmet, it just looks amazing. Most damaged WW1 Helmets I usually see are relics with not much Paint left but yours still has a good portion of it's beautiful Shiny Feldgrau left. There are also lot of Helmets that got damaged by the famous Pick Axe or in other ways but on yours it looks like if it was really damaged in battle or at least under fire tests. I also love the look of these small Sized Helmets, something I miss from the Austro-Hungarian produced ones.
Nice Profile Pic btw, I loved watching that Movie with my dad.
Thanks for showing!
Best regards
Nozo
Nice piece of vet art!
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated
My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

A grim reminder of the price paid on both sides of the line.
