    Hello Forum,
    I have a Question: Why do German WW2 M16 Helmets, have different "Horns" on them i´ve seen two types:

    The Type where the Horns are alone:


    And the Type where there is a certain border between Helmet and Horn:


    Is it depending on the maker? Is one version early and the other one later and its just categorised as the same Type?

    From what I have learned on this fine site ,is that they have different air vent lugs because of the size of the helm.

    The step on the lug is on the smaller size helmets and I believe is to keep the mounting for the 'sniper' plate standard across all helmet shell sizes.
