Hi all. I am at a local show and ran across this helmet. I was told it's all original and correct. The paint is textured and there is a painted decal of a german MG on one side and a red and white shield on the other. The helmet has a name and what looks like a unit marking. It seems suspicious to me! Seems like a recent repaint to me.

I am not really a helmet guy but my gut says RUN.
I don't see any scuff marks or scratches or paint chips in the camo to show me
that it it has any age to it. Plus I have never see an original in those colors and
with painted on markings like that.

Like I said I'm not a helmet guy so I would advise waiting for better opinions than mine.

I was VERY suspicious of it. It's too clean too me!

Probably done in the last year, not over 100 years ago. Fairly scarce shell however.

It is a Berndorfer “Hungarian” shell - nothing else about it is period. Jim G.

He was asking 725.00 US which I thought was awfully low for a camo helmet. Then I picked it up and immediately said, this can't be a good helmet.

Very artistically well done, but nothing period about it as already said.

Some people will do anything for the almighty $. What an undignified ending for this one.
