Advice wanted on my german headgear

Article about: Hi Clay, looks OK to me. The stripping and cleaning have made it look a bit too clean that is all. I would agree with Jerry's comment re the liner. Cheers, Ade.

Default M40 german heer helmet your opinion please

    Hi guys

Just joined this site, hopefully I could get some advice on my heer helmet, original? etc, I brought this helmet as a paint over so I paid $160 for it, I took my chances with some paint stripper, paint was removed and the paint and decal that you see is what was underneath, this paint you see must be super paint as the stripper didnt harm it, paint is in very good condition, but sadly decal is very blurry, not sure if this helmet is a reissue as paint seems to have been applied over decal, also inside of helmet seems untouched has a wehrmahct ink stamp in dome and 4 places through europe marked on leather liner, liner band is stamped with Berlin 1941, so your opinion and a value of helmet would be much appreciated

    Thanks alot Clay

Clay would have been better to post the helmets each in a separate topic and a close-ups of the Heer decal. It helps the discussion.
Cloth headgear is discussed in another forum.

The helmet is original(Original double decal police helmets are getting hard to find) I am not good with visor caps, but i would say it looks good.

Helmet and decal might be good, but better pics are needed. I could doubt the liner as being a period original. Looks like a SD Heer M40 to me.

Also can anyone tell me if in late war, helmets were resprayed and reissued as the paint you see on outer helmet has definitly been painted over decal, thats the reason for poor decal condition, green paint on decal may have come off with the paint stripper thanks clay
