Authentication of DD Polizei M40

I would really appreciate opinions on the authenticity of this DD Polizei M40 helmet. Found it for sale on a local marketplace for a good price. I am relatively new to collecting having taken a main interest in German helmets and looking to learn on authenticating. Thanks!
