HI guys,
this was sold here in Australia last week for AUD$1000 ( USD$750 ) and I thought it would be a good discussion helmet seeing as that cammos are so divisive.... what do you think? ..its not run-of-the-mill that's for sure!

I'm sure this one will draw strong opinions from either side. I'm undecided.

Is that the only decal close up photo?
Yes that's all the site had...... ...oh, I found one more - the eagle is just sneaking into view!

I'm liking it less....

That was a nice result for the seller.
I look at the chinstrap and "furry edges" comes to mind, and then I start to imagine brown shoe polish being rubbed into the liner before its top edge is sandpapered.
The decal is tastefully obscured by a unique Ebay AU paintjob.
It's funny how known camo patterns avoid sale in this part of the world.
I like the paste style on the streaks, but an HKP M42 camo with a decal, original liner and chinstrap could have been consigned to a dealer, instead of Ebay.
Hope to hear comments and correction.
Thanks for posting Dan.
if there is a visible decal that should be the first target to authenticate the camo is only good if the decal is good so discussing the camo without a good decal photo is pointless.
But for me it is bad , I think the helmet was discussed on other forums.
Again, these are all that were on the site, I too would want to see better, but there you go. I would be interested to read other reviews on other forums too, please link them if you find them.

The decal appears to be laying on top of the green camo in the 1st decal photo which seems odd. Every decal shot is taken from a purposeful angle so as to obscure the talons. Why cover just a certain area. Either paint around or paint over - would have seemed more logical. The feathering of the top of the liner, as Dan (Kateri) points out, is another example of attempted deception. The liner has been treated with something either to deceive or from lack of education. The WW1 style block deciding lines are unusual but I guess not impossible, but overall too many questions with this one.
