Camo M42 SD Heer Helmet - Recent Pickup
I was visiting family over the weekend in Balitmore, and wound up hitting a few local antique shops. Found M42 camo sitting on a lower shelf, in the back of a glass display case.
Per the shop owner, helmet along with some other non-militaria items were acquired from the son of the US vet who brought the helmet home. Shop is putting me in touch with the son, so hopefully I can find out more information on the father's service.
As per the description, it's an SD Heer, manufactured by Eisenhüttenwerke; heat lot 1617. Doing a comparison, it appears to have a factory applied ET decal. Sadly, the helmet is missing its liner and chinstrap, but beggars can't be choosers.
In any case, photos of the helmet below. Feedback good or bad is welcomed!

Too bad the original pins at least did not survive. Would have been a candidate for a Frankenstein

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

A nice honest find. Really nice to see a unquestionable camo helmet.

Would display better with a liner in it. I am far from condoning liner replacements... but this has no liner to start with. As long as it is for your viewing pleasure & disclosed if sold...I might consider putting in a liner. This one deserves it

Thanks, gentlemen! This is only my second camo helmet, both acquired in less than a year. The first was a tri-camo, that was a bring-back included as part of a larger group of items named to a US vet.
Here's a group shop I took of the two, because, well, I'm a nerd...
