Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
Hi Paul, it is not one I would have wanted. The decal is one I would classify as a fake. The overall look of the helmet, paint and wear etc I don't like either.
Cheers, Ade.
A lucky escape for me then Ade , i had a look wasn't convinced and plus i hadn't seen one before so i sent i back whence it came , but someone will have paid a tidy sum for it !!

That useful to know. Thanks.

Nice Helmet Ade
I don't collect anything from other countrys but can appreciate the rarity.I still get caught out on the odd German item so would not be game enough to buy one of these unless it was confirmed

The reason why so few of these exist is because the Einsatzstaffel was gobbled by the 7th SS Prinz Eugen when it was formed. Many of these original helmets were then repainted or re-decaled. I happen to own an Einsatzstaffel award document if you would like, I can scan it and post it.

Martin that would be great , thank you

Paul, I believe I owe you ONE Croatian Einsatzstaffel award document?
Says the guy is Anton Devus born in Zemun, Croatia in 1901. Chances are he ended up in Prinz Eugen so you very may well be able to look up his war record.
This is not the document he would have received, rather, it is the ORDER for him to get the Croatian Bronze Ante Pavelic Medal for Bravery.
Here is the medal.

Martin apologies for not revisiting this thread , many thanks for posting a rare doc
