It's been a long wait as this helmet kind of disappeared from tracking somewhere over the Atlantic for over a week.....

As some of you know...I've been searching for one of these for a bit now.

M35 SE64 DD Droop Tail in a beautiful "Luft Blue". Despite being a worn helmet, it is in great condition. Just the way I like them.

Lot # 3119. This exact helmet is listed in Franks Lot # Database.

M31 non-reinforced aluminum liner band produced by Max Densow, Berlin and dated 1937. Leather is supple and unit marked under the liner FLD Schule (Field School), most likely Field Artillery School. Early brass split pins are untouched. I can see no ink size stamp so not sure if this was an embossed example that has been worn away from use.

Chinstrap is strong and produced by Franz Brehme - Walsrode with stamped LBA mark.

Droop Tail decal is 95/97% although the National Shield has taken some "hits" over the years.

Now to look for an early Police or Heer M35....

Enjoy. Double click photos to enlarge.

Thanks Marty! It's not mint but it is what I prefer.

Yes, photos are really nice. But that's because it is an ideal photo day. Spring green and overcast. That said, with this early shiny blue paint, even with the heavy overcast, there still is some glare.

Thanks Frank. I was not surprised to find it in your database. This helmet was previously owned by a couple of well known collectors at one point in time.

The "Densow" liners are frequently observed with no size ink stamp in the leather. Sometimes the size is hand written in ink on one of the tongues
    D.

Not really an easy finding an early Luft with non reinforced band. Furthermore Densow is the rarest one among the liners producers.
    Great catch Michael.

Awesome lid Map! Tough to upgrade on that. Congrats. Thank you for showing.
