The liner looks to have been installed very recently.
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated
My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

The liner looks similar to a post war W German liner, but, as you state, is fitted back to front !
The cotter pins securing the liner also looks odd.

You see a lot of these helmets in Finland a original German shell with decal and Post war fitted liner for post war service as the Finnish army carried on using these helmets well into the early 1970s ,you are lucky that it hasnt been repainted when it had the new liner fitted as this is what normally happens
Thank you for the reply. So do you think the SA did not do the green paint camo?
I'd lose the liner and modern pins, there appears to be a patch of paint on the rear that looks like an overpaint? I'm not 100% sure but it looks strange. The scratched swastika etc may be a later addition but overall I hope you got this for a good price.

The strange colour patch I was seeing before I don't see on these outdoor pictures. I like it!
I think its the original ww2 German Paint with age wear .
