First Post - Inherited German Helmets, Help
Hi All
First of all let me say Hi
I have been viewing the site as a guest recently and took the plunge to sign up and seek your assistance ,if you dont mind!
My Father passed away last year and was a big collector/dealer.
I must admit I do not know anything about this kind of thing and have been trying to research bits best I can and have (dare I admit) sold a few bits on ebay for probably much less than their true value.
I'm not looking for immediate sales, would just like the guidance and assistance from you guys in identifying and valuing them, ultimately they will all be for sale.
I hope that this is ok and thank you in advance
Dan

Hello and welcome to the forum!
We will do our best to authenticate any items you have, but we are not a free appraisal service. Once you find out what you have, it should not be difficult to find prices.

Hi
thank you, no I appreciate that I am merely looking for some help as to what they are and where I should sell them
I really am stuck!

Thanks. First, and while it might be a pain, you should post each helmet in its own thread. It will help you!
Second, The first helmet (tan) is 100% bad. As well as the sand/rough textured camo with hand painted decals.
Probably not wanted to hear. But better to know the truth.
Have to log off now. Plane is taking off....literally, but hopefully others will be around and help with the other lids.
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated
My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Hi
Thanks for your comments
So when you say bad, is that bad as in fakes or bad as in refurbished/painted? These are the kind of things i need to mention when I will be passing them on and I do not want to mis-sell anything to a collector having read some horror stories of members here!

I'm afraid it's bad as in fake. The tan one that is. However the others are in a bad state most without liners and some iffy decals to be sure. The m40 ....the first helmet I think. ......had an original decal. But the others with the tri colours look to be bad. Again bad as in fake. Not what anyone likes to hear. But my tuppence worth 😅
