German speakers... I need help deciphering a name on a helmet

Can anyone make this out for me. I am stumped. I am wondering if it is even a German name.

it was picked up in a trench by a US vet around Torgau

i've been staring at this for a while now.

thought i would post just so you know that, at least on my end, it's not for lack of effort that you don't have an answer here.

i just can't read it.

it's possible the first line says "KEAGLE", but i don't see a down stroke for the "E" so this guess may be wrong.

the second line i'm totally stumped.

I am thinking Keagle Ugser?

I can't tell, though, if it is a U.

So strange.

Or is it K. Eagle? And the word below is something else?

I still think that it isn't even remotely German. Other than that I have no idea what to make of it.

I am with you. It may not be German. So the vet who picked it up a Torgau around April 1945. So god knows who the Germans were putting into uniform at that time. Also, what's interesting is that the helmet is small...a 62. Not sure about the liner size.

i do see it as German either. maybe i should have said that. without knowing the words, i don't get too German a feeling when i see "EAG" together like that, but i don't have the largest German vocabulary out there and i may just be missing something.

if it is "KEAGLE", the derivation of this name is that it is an americanized version of the German name "Kegel". the name would, therefore, be American.

but i really don't feel that it's German.

it's not impossible, but i do not recognize "Ugser" as a name. not a German one anyway.

at any rate, to my eye, recognizing the first later in the second word as a "U" is a stretch. but, on the other hand, when writing on an unstable surface like that who knows how sloppy things can get.

The name and the handwriting are both not German IMO. It could have been done by some kid since the war.

yeah, that crossed my mind too.

when you look at the disproportionality of the letters. for example the "A" the thought does occur.
