Helmet batch numbers

Article about: I think EF helmets are known to have light/hard to decipher lot numbers at times. Maybe it was a "mis-stamp" and a couple of digits are missing?

Helmet batch numbersHelmet batch numbers Hi everyone ! I've only been collecting helmets for a few months , before that it was WWII rifles and handguns. Anyway I keep reading that lot numbers are suppose to be 3 or 4 digits but my E.F. 66 M40 has a lot number of 48. Is that in some way significant ? Thanks for any thoughts.

Welcome to the forum. I recommend you post your query in a separate / stand alone post. And please provide pictures of the whole helmet. The lowest EF lot numbers I have seen are in the 800 range. As noted. EF lot number were not sequential.
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

Helmet batch numbers It's been repainted that's why I didn't show the whole helmet...figured it wouldn't tell anything. Thanks ~S.

Helmet batch numbers It was one from IMA (International Military Antiques) they claimed it was a genuine German wartime production M40 with newer liner , from Finland. I replaced liner/chinstrap/split pins with repros. It will have to do until I find an all original one for my collection. Thanks again for the info.
