    Default Helmet identification

Hello all. I came across this helmet and I am really unsure about it, to me looks like a fire or police helmet but again not sure. One of the decals to me looks authentic but the others do not but I may be wrong. The eagle on the front appears to have been applied later and whatever was under it was painted over. Was this a common practice to repurpose the helmet? Can anyone help me with what I have here? Thanks!

This is a commercial M34 fire /police helmet.

But all the decals are fake. Paint could be original but also might not be. Hard to call

Thank you for the information. I was thinking that one of the decals may be authentic but I guess not. Would it be advisable to try and remove the decals?

    Hi,
    for what it's worth.
IMO they are two different paints. Perhaps the inside is original is more opaque, and the liner has no sign of paint (it may have been removed before being repainted) while the outside is brighter and shiner. Also note that there are some pits under the painting.
as already said, just my two cents.
    Regards.

I think the Party Shield is good, the others are repros. Some of the exterior paint appears to me to be post War touch ups especially the swathe under the fake Luft decal. Jim G.
