Helmet no idea about this / Genuine or Fake?.
Hello Gentlemen , i have been shown this German ww2 Helmet , just wanted to know if it was a genuine one?. I think it might be posing as an ss helmet perhaps?. But just read an article and it could be a post 1960 German police helmet with the DIN marking?. Any help would be much appreciated , Many Thanks , chinstrap looks wrong though. Would like it as a talking point if Genuine. Thank you.
Not my area but it's a Firemans helmet ....not SS...someone else will be a long in a minute to tell you the period.
Thank you Sir. I think it could be 1960s+. If it isn't worth a lot , i wouldn't mind getting it and having a few scenes painted on it by a professional artist that i talked to online Who Specialises in painting military scenes on helmets and other metal items. Would make a good talking point then. Although it not being a military helmet is a bit of a turn off.

Yes it seems to be a post war German firefighters Helmet , Thank you for the help. Very much appreciated sir. I might get it and have it painted , just can't make my mind up if the fact that it isn't military puts me off the idea. Here is some of the artists work , they can paint these scenes on this helmet for me. What do you think?.

No disrespect intended at all - i can assure you. Apologies if my previous wording was being naive in any way or came across the wrong way at all. Worth buying then sir?. Leave as is?. Or paint it up?. I like the fact it looks similar to a German WW2 helmet.
I think the artist work is great, but as mentioned a genuine combat shell would be better, plenty of these on ebay.
