Obviously the decal on this helmet is fake, but I was wondering about the shell. The black paint has a textured look. Did reissued SS helmets ever have brushed-on black paint, or is this likely a post-war job.

Could be anything underneath the paint - a tarted up Norwegian rework ?
Likely an original lid - a 'Q' possibly.........
