Hi Guys,
Got this beautiful late war M42 in a while ago that i would like to share.
A CKL64 M42, with lotnr 5462, a size 57 liner, and a stamped RBNr. 1944 liner band. The chinstrap is faintly marked but i can't make it out.

Very nice example. Nice honest wear. Looks great!
And .........still one that is missing from my collection.

Just the right amount of wear. Congratulations on picking up a very tidy and I messed with M42!
You might want to consider taking the strap off the brow of the front visor as long term this can place undue stress on the 70+ year old leather.

Can't explain why, I love the m42 variant more then the previous models. Nice lid
Thank's guys!
Where is the SS decal? Just kidding, this is a really nice piece, untouched. Well done. Jim G.
Thank you sir.
Superb! I love the ripples in the skirts of these late war helmets. It really speaks of the desperate circumstances in which they were manufactured.

Thanks for a rare surprise.
Original condition helmets in the 5000 Lot number range from Thale are pretty unusual I think.
I have shells which have all come through Czechoslovakia post-war up to 5645.
Along with Brodie I like the ripples on the right skirt.
The casting on these late helmets is rough, the defects vary.
Whoever wore it never got bored enough to poke out the unfinished hole in the leather liner.
Very nice example. I like it!
