Would liberating the decal of this reissued M35 increase its value? What would you do?

I have a particular opinion about this type of situation: NEVER TOUCH THE HELMET! It is what it is since war and nothing you can change or add in 2012 will let it better, more beautiful or valuable. And if you can't hold your hands, as a good friend, you can send it to me and I'll make the sacrifice to keep it for you.

Anyone can obviously see the Heer decal that lies beneath. FWIW - You already have a best case scenario, why would you ruin it!!!

It would decrease the value by probably half and ruin its historical integrity.
