    I would like to show you this Luftwaffe helmet.
    Can you look at it and say me if it is Original and authentic helmet before 1945? All the parts are good? Decal ?
    Can you help me please with identification of model and maker?
    The hallmark is on it: Q64 DN54 I think...

    Hi Panzer your lid is an M40 made by F.W. Quist,Esslingen,the 64 is the shell size and the 57 on the leather liner is the liner size the DN54 is the lot number. I'm far from an expert so I'm not one hundred percent sure it's not a fake.

    I'm sure one of the more experienced collectors will help you, I hope this helped.

    The decal is a poor fake, (very unlikely on a rear marked Quist).
    I do not like the gritty paint and chinstrap also.

    Agree. You should not see a decal on a rear stamped Quist
    "Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated
