Luftwaffe sd M42 marked ET66/5067 for review
Greetings, could I get some feedback on this single decal M40 marked ET66/5067? I know I have posted a lot lately but this will be the last item I post for awhile whether this helmet is original or not. *EDIT* photo upload didn't work well, link to originals is here:

It’s a m40 looks okay to me but I do not like the damage to the decal wait for others opinions
Also As long as your posts are genuine do not worry about how much you post.

It's an M40 helmet, not M42. We could really do with some better pictures - particularly of the decal.

Not sure why the site won't allow the images to open up. They are good photos but when I upload them, they won't open up, at least on my mobile.

I don't see any obvious red flags but I think the price is a little steep for this one..
650 euros amounts to about $740 US dollars,, not sure if postage and handling is included or not..
Here is one from Daniel Griffins website,, the decal is much better and is priced accordingly in my humble opinion..although it is missing the chinstrap but is a good looking helmet for almost $100 less...

I'd recommend Espenlaub Militaria to anyone. They're a reputable seller and a forum partner, so about as trustworthy as a dealer can be. I've bought from them many times without issue. Haven't purchased a helmet from them before, but if it's listed on their site it's a pretty safe bet that it's genuine. Shipping to the U.S. from Estonia may be an issue, however.
Regardless, you did the right thing posting here first. It's worth being cautious when spending money on militaria, whether that be $600 or only $6. It's a good habit to get into.

Bwoah , they also had some duds. There is only one golden rule if you can't judge helmets yourself. Post them on the forum before you buy.
Make sure to get decent high quality photos for us to review.
I would not buy either Luftwaffe helmet suggested here , go for one with a better decal and better paint and with chinstrap. There are plen ty of Luftwaffe helmets for sale.
Look in the price range of 800+ euros.

Thanks - It is much easier to see the photos via Espenlaub. I think the decal is good - based on analysis of the remaining claw and comparing to another ET decal. The rest of the helmet also looks good, but always wait for other opinions.
I agree with BB that Espenlaub has a good reputation, but i find their prices can be a bit high. For the prices you are paying i would consider the helmet on Griffin militaria or wait for another one with a better decal.
