M33 Stabswache Röhm - SA helmet

Hi guys,

here is my M33 SA "Stabwache Röhm" helmet. An ex DD helmet in green brown.











Here a photo to compare the color with my black M33 Feuerwehr and brown SA Himmler style helmet.

Here are examples of nearly complete decals of this type. The M33 Duckbill was sourced a few years ago and now is owned by a friend of mine. He also owns the Himmler helmet with these decals that is in the Baer book. The last 2 pictures are the decals on that piece. As you can see, the Adler decal on the M33 is graphically different from the one on the Himmler shell, but both are most definitely original. Looking at the helmet that started the thread, you can see the outlines of the SA decals that most probably were removed after the Night of the Long Knives, when any perceived allegiance to Rohm could be fatal. Nice helmet - and REAL. There aren't many of these left, and it is neat to have one in the collection in any condition. Jim G.

A scarce helmet, a shame the decals are gone but you can at least still identify what it is! Leon.
