Just got this helmet (shell) for free from someone I know.
They had it in their possession ever since and it might have been worn at the front by that person's father.
It began its life as a DD LW by EF, you can still see the decals very nicely beneath the paint.
Then it was painted over in a nice shade of feldgrau with maybe something added to texturize it, could also be remains of a different paintjob beneath the reissue paint, and then it had a camo applied, I think it's a very bright green/tan color.
I took some pictures in direct sunlight, too.
The other pictures were taken behind the house while it's still bright outside.
Unfortunately very brittle paint as most of it has worn off.
There's also remains of 2 names in the inside skirt, one that was applied with a piece of tape and the other maybe written in with a red crayon.
When the helmet was reissued they also stamped a big 62 in red in the skirt.
Maker mark is unreadable, but another EF62 lot 837 in Frank's database is a DD LW.
I added the liner and split pins myself but I think they fit quite well.
I hope you like it as much as I do!
Luis
