Hi Guys

Here's a shocker. What a 1 Trick Pony but ...... I like textbook helmets. I do. Even more so.... I like textbook Kriegsmarine helmets. I saw this one for sale and as with every KM.... I liked it a lot ... and started talking w the seller. This ET SD KM is a one looker original for me. Uncleaned. Untouched and just the way I like them. I have some mintier helmets and appreciate those examples fully but this “look” is where my preference lies. The two bonus features for me on this one are 1) the great surname written on the Helmet and Liner..... “Panzer” (looks like someone tried to scrape it off during the period or very long ago with a Key or a Knife and 2) the early single liner band that is not often seen. I have 1 other on an early Heer. Also of note is there is a #2 stamped below the lot number. I would say a mis-strike by the maker but it is a different font and doesn’t look like the earlier gothic script ET used to use. So any observations welcome.

The ET KM Decal is in great shape. The green paint has darkened over the years giving it a nice hunter green color. Also many KMs I have found are of this smaller size. Smaller people back in da dayz. Also sailors were particularly young it seems from my readings.

This helmet hasn’t been fully investigated yet. The Knot of the tie string appears factory tied to me and I would rather not mess. But maybe I’ll use one of those dental mirrors to peek around inside.

PS: The seller found this on eBay. Someone was selling it as a “Panzer Helmet”. Some people have all the luck. LOL. But ... so do I for having this new piece around
