Re: M35 NS HEERES DD repainted?
The interior looks fine but chinstrap is a fake in my opinion.
Both decals are originals but the Ed Strache type Heer eagle is only found on reissued helmets , the tricolor appears to have been heavily cleaned or something. Or maybe a layer of post war paint was removed from the helmet.
My advice would be to pass and look for a better example.

Re: M35 NS HEERES DD repainted?
From what I've seen at shows over here lately, I think $400 was a pretty good buy,
even with the aged fake chinstrap.
One heavily varnished M40 I saw this past fall had completely black and rotted
liner leather and only one barely-there Heer decal for the same asking price,
with no chinstrap. It was nicer than any other WWII
German helmet there.........!

I think it is great! Strache decals are not that common (fitted). I would keep a space for it in my collection any day!
Cheers
