Had this helmet for a while but was just taking some photos today and thought I would post it.
I love factory M35 models issued to M40 specs. ... those brass rivets just don't want to hold onto their paint do they?

When I got the helmet I was concerned about the Split pin colors but it was Doug B that suggested it was exactly like it should have been being a factory re-issue with the correct Quist Big Foot decal. Apparently they didn't paint the split pins and they have the original color on them.

Well that's something I didn't know. I thought the reissue paint came off too?

It may have come off I honestly don't know I'm just basing it off the fact that one well known collector told me it was correct. I believe the liner and strap were updated when it was rebuilt. When I look at it close I am pretty sure the helmet was painted with the pins out though.by Danmark

I 've heard both but don't know which is correct or maybe both are. But I've seen this often.
