Definitely looks white washed. These washes were primarily made up of a chalky white substance mixed to a paste like form and applied to the helmet. Unlike a white painted helmet, the wash could be removed very quickly and easily but as can be seen, would sometimes leave some traces. I tend to find white washed winter camos more believable than white painted winter camos although they certainly exist.
Your helmet is perfect as it is. Always good to inspect from time to time for mould and to see how it is being preserved. Make sure you have a smell inside as it should have a nice old steel type smell. You’ll become familiar with this the more helmets you handle. Recently painted helmets tend to lose the smell due to the new paint.
