M40 luftwaffe q64 lot#dn 153

Hi Guys
I sold my 1st Combat Helmet that I ever purchased last year. It was a Luftwaffe M40. I figured it would be easy to replace as the streets were paved with Luft M40s then. That was not the case however as Odd Trends and Swings in the market made these shoot up pricewise and finding a decent one became difficult. I found this one in the Midwest under the radar (under retail prices) at a Gun Sellers. Pictures were horrible but I was desperate and I rolled the dice. Luckily when it arrived I fell in love with it when it arrived and I will not take for granted these "common" helmets any longer. This one has an Alu Reinforced Liner and a great paint job with a Blue/Gray rough textured look to it. It came without a strap as I find alot of M40 Lufts do. My last one had no strap either and I will not be adding one to this ... Kind of my Luft M40 tradition now .... Thanks for lookin!

A real classic with a nice alu reinforced liner as icing on the cake.

Nice! The lighter colored paint is what I like the most about it. I sold my first Luft earlier this year, and I kinda/kinda not regret it. I'll get another one eventually.

Very nice example, looks good inside and out. I'm always curious about liner dates especially on aluminum bands. Can you make out the date?

Thank you! Frank asked too Terry (Great Minds think alike?) ... I gave a look and had problems seeing as its in there super tight ... If I am able to make it out I will ping you .... Ill give another go

Take a screw driver and bend in the liner band until you can read it. I'm sure the aluminum will go back to it's original shape

She is a beauty Z. Nice score.
