M40 SD Army

Article about: I will answer my own question. When a dealer has been informed with facts to back it up that an article sold or being sold, is postwar, and continues to sell it, that my friends, is a fraud.

That is true Morris, but some dodgy stuff has been on offer on quite a few occasions by this site
& I am not just talking about helmets. Some of these items are glaringly obvious, yet somehow
have managed to slip through the net. I too have bought some good items from Emedals & I am
in no way "Dealer Bashing", but I have seen the fake sold helmets that mysteriously disappeared
from the site after they were bought to the attention of various forums. I have also emailed them
to point out obvious fake "coffin" pin plate badges that have appeared on the site. Collectors pay
a premium to buy from from Emedals & deserve a bit more vigilance from the people who claim to
sell only originals. Sorry to ruffle anybodys feathers but there are many items on the site that I
wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. Anyways as this is the helmet forum I will cease & desist

    Regards
    Brett

Close up photos of the decals are needed as said above. And I love how so many threads contain a "Bash a dealer"section these days.
I have received several item which passed the forums check list.
It all returns to the know what you are buying principle, every dealer screws up.
How so many threads? Please identify as I believe you are exaggerating.

There was a thread on Oakleaf, that's it.
And Oakleaf has been selling some terrible fakes especially in the SS realm.

EMedals has been caught selling many fake helmets and other items.

At what point does it cease to be a mistake and when does the dealer take responsibility for what he sells.

EMedals offers a lifetime guarantee. When I pointed out a fake SS helmet they were selling they came on the forum and made some claims. When it was pointed out from their Sold gallery they have sold many fakes, they removed the fakes from the Gallery and I will bet they did not contact a single customer to refund their money.

If you are a loyal Oakleaf or eMedals customer I guess you will want to defend your source of militaria lest your collection be exposed?

And to address "Dealer Bashing" I prefer to say it's holding dealers accountable.

But Oakleaf and eMedals show a disturbing pattern that cannot be ignored.

Vigilance that our hobby requires and not dealer bashing by any means. The facts bear this out.

It is much wiser to scrutinize now than to come to an extremely rude awakening several decades down the road when you choose to part with your collection.

Saves me a drive to his shop. I have seen him many times at the military shows, last time he sold a pristine SS helmet , and I mean freshly painted brand spanking new. I have purchased a luft flak badge from him, which passed on the forum.

I will have no further dealings with this dealer, and will pass him by at the next show.

    Thanks for the warnings guys.

I do agree that one should know what they are buying and research the particular field you collect .
But dealers need to be held accountable for items they pass on to the consumer that are not what they appear to be granted every one makes a mistake now and then but in the case of E-medals and or Oak Leaf
    Buyer be ware .

Dealer bashing as it may appear, is often just the eagle eye of specialists. A dealer selling a broad front of militaria can't be expected to know the minutiae of each field. Some dealers are outright liars, I don't think I need to mention their snide ranks by name (sic), but most (I hope) just sell their wares with ignorant honesty.

It can't ever be a bad thing. And moreover, a good dealer will welcome the revelations provided.

Any proven fake must always be refunded, if you are to continue dealing in good standing with your patrons.

Oh dear , this EMEDALS lark is becoming very sad!! I held off commenting on various items they have had for sale since the FAKE!!!! Helmet fiasco , but I pointed out their fake Braunswick Treffen( which had no response and is still for sale at $325) And the rest of the site has in my opinion a fair amount of "dubious" items that when questioned have no answers/replies?? Personally if these guys were once respectected, they are no longer by me! Leon.

I have displayed my collection multiple times, and to receive such a warm welcome for having a different opinion here is just. But i don't think you should jump down peoples throats for were they shop, that would fall under personal preference.

I am not jumping down anyone's throats, but please don't chide others for pointing out the very obvious issues on these dealer sites and proceed to call it "bashing".

Again, if it's where you shop for your militaria that's your deal not mine. But a spade is a spade and should be called as such.

Again, I ask at what point is a "screwup" and at what point is it fraud?
