m42 helmet size

Can any of you guys help me?i have just recieved an m42 helmet shell that i bought from gouldy on this forum.I cant make out the size on the helmet, i ran a tape measure round the inside,and it measures 65,could anyone tell me what would the liner size be ?

The easiest way is to measure the outside at the three liner pin holes, then reduce it to the nearest recognised shell size, a size 64 shell will take a size 56 or 57 liner, a size 66 will take a 58 or 59 liner

Hi Buster, run a cloth tape around the outside of the shell inline with the rivet holes this should give you the closest size to the centimetre, although it usually comes up with an odd number bot just round it up to the nearest even e.g: 67 would be a 68 wich would have a liner of 60-61, hope this helps.

Hi davejb and woodsnake, i just did as you said, and the shell is 68 round the pin holes, so would that make the liner size 61 ?

By rights then you should have a 66 sized shell therefore 58-59 liner
