    hello everyone
I found Q64 of M42 at auction the other day. It was painted in tan color and Wrong decal stuck.
I couldn't see the lot number very well, but since Q's M42 is rare, I was afraid that it would get a lot of bids and be expensive.
However, when converted to dollars, I was able to make a successful bid for about $220.
The lot number of the helmet I received is DN543. Remove the paint and repaint properly. Of course I don't stick stupid decals.
    I will post detailed pictures.

I stripped the paint off. Original paint remained on the inside. However, unfortunately,
the outside was polished and there was no paint left.

Finding one in original condition is rare but as an overpaint much less so.

    Thank you.
When you say overpaint, do you mean tan color? Or are you referring to the small red flakes of paint left on the shell?

Some authors have stated Quist made the M42s in mid 1944 and were all ND helms issued to mainly civic ( Police & fire )

If so, the speck of red could be a remnant of an original colour?

I just noticed that I have been studying your website frequently.
Thank you and glad to be able to converse with you.

The yellow paint shards on the inside are due to the repaint not being completely removed.
I thought most of the black paint was factory paint, is that wrong?

(I didn't know how to reply with a quote)

I read in some forum that it was issued to Heer and SS.
I don't know if there is evidence.

    Of course not all.
I've seen LS with different shapes.

I hope there is some way to clarify

    Default liner Details

The liner was made in 1942.
However, it is likely that another helmet liner was installed.
The engraving is not clear, but do you know which maker it is?
