Had this for many years - a plain Jane M42 single decal Luftwaffe helmet, an ET66, lot number 1582, complete with a full length 1942 dated chin strap and a size 59 liner. The leather in the liner is in wonderful condition, supple and cream colored. You sometimes see a two piece liner with a stitched seam and glued seam, far less frequently do you come across one like this, 3 pieces of leather with one stitched and TWO glued seams. The paint is in pretty good shape and although the bird has taken a few hit it still looks pretty good. Anyway, here it is - hope you like it. Him G.

    Very nice Jim.

Love the photos of the liner. I've rarely ever seen this combination before!
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

I don't see these spliced liners very often , some ascribe them to late war but this helmet is more mid war so I guess it's a matter of not letting leather go to waste.
    Nice helmet Jim.

    Very nice.
For sure it was done not to waste leather, still today it happens in leather goods manufacture (being leather expensive more than a fabric)

The eagle flew through some flak, eh? No matter, a wonderful helmet for sure! I want my first decaled helmet to be a luftwaffe one.

My first decaled helmet was a SD Luft, M42 ET66. Got it from the vet's son for $1.75 in 1966. I was 12, he was 8. His Dad didn't care that he sold it. Still have it. I will post it soon. Jim G.
