I think it will be difficult to remove that type of paint.

If you own it I would just display as is.

Interior paint appears to be good. I can't confirm the name is original though

The best thing you can do is try and get a refund, then save the money towards a proper helmet that's not been messed with. Steer clear of camo and wired helmets until you have better knowledge on the subject. Most are fake anyway.

Actually from a collectors point of view, you did not get a good price as there is little to no value in the helmet.

It would be a good reenactors helmet though.
