Hello everyone, here's a helmet I recently picked up, a very nice Heer M40.

It's a size 55 with a very nice liner and chinstrap still remaining. This one was given to me as a gift for $50 from the family of a local ww2 vet who passed away recently, just goes to show that stuff is still coming out of the woodworks! I'm very pleased with this helmet and I hope you guys are as well.

As always thanks for looking and let me know what you think below

Knowing the family of the vet that brought it back would, to me, be a reason to keep it for the rest of my life. Wonderful helmet. It saddens me when I hear that another WWII vet has left us. With each passing the world is a lesser place. Jim G.

What makes the family of the vet "extra special" is the fact that his daughter was my math teacher back in Highschool! I also graduated with his granddaughter. So a good piece of local history

Fabulous Wally. A great looking helmet. Great liner too.

The family must have though highly of you.

Write everything down and keep it with the helmet!
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

That one definitely looks very nice!
And agreed, all the better with all the known history behind it!
    A keeper for sure.
