Looks like a nice shell at the end of the day mate, with a decent history. Get a liner that matches the appearance and your laughing

    Cheers

I don't see why not mate, not a real spring or medium green, more of a brown/tan green on it. I think it's certainly a helmet that would look even better with good crisp photos. I should have kept onto it.... Lol

I don't like the liner from these pics but the rest looks solid, I'll keep an eye on the thread for detailed shots when it lands mate

    OK, the helmet has arrived.
So, the first thing was to take out the liner that someone had put in with mismatched, odd rivets ( at least they were genuine ) and have a look. Here are some photos for your opinions - I am still confused as to what I am looking at here.

It is not a blatant new reproduction and actually looks like an original band that has been re-leathered. ( but when? )
There is light wear and stretching of the tongues but no size stamp. There is also a wear hole ( flaw ) in the side as can be seen in the photos. ( this line HAS been on someones head for some time .... maybe a reenactor, who knows )
The liner band has light rusting but I don't think it has been wire brushed and the chinstrap bales do have rubbing on them.
The felt looks right colour and texture compared to others I have and the liner split pins are correct I believe.

Any leanings here guys? ....... watcha reckon.
