Original M34 police helmet?
Hi all!
Someone wants to sell me his m34 police helmet, but I have some doubts about its originality.
In my (non-expert) opinion, the liner looks good. With even the name of the german written on it.
But the paint looks a little too good to me.
The seller says he bought it from someone who found it in a sealed box in the masonry of a farm.
So it's plausible, but I would like your expert opinions on this one.

It looks like an authentic helmet that has been repainted and and had post war decals and liner stamps applied. This is what the interior of my two look like. I would hold off for an authentic untouched example as they are still abundant and fairly inexpensive. Wait for the helmet guys to be sure.

Always post decal close ups but I do not like it. These are not rare helmets so always get ones with good decals.

The decals look like reproductions in my opinion. Looks like a ww2 period M34 (some were post war) but looks repainted as above etc. not worth all too much but fine for display purposes!
I would pass, everything has been embellished post war.

If you focus on the leather and move to the paint you’ll see the big discrepancy in aging between the two. But good you posted here first, and as has already been said, there are numerous original examples of these out there.
You can find beautiful examples of these for cheap. There is no reason to settle for a crappy one
