Guys i was offered a repaint shell. Is this a post war helmet. Seller can only find one marking, and the vent holes dont look like ww2 unless i am wrong due to the different manufacturers variants of vent holes on m42 lids. Also a finnish liner ?Attachment 1559088

Of course the decals, and possibly the paint are bad, but I actually think this is a good shell.

It's been repainted. I was unsure of maker and lot number etc. Couldn't even see a shell size. And of course the manufacturer mark

Its an Original shell with fake paint and probably good liner, it could be a post war fireman reissue with added decals. As its a late war M42 the maker and Lotn. are both in the rear skirt.

Guys after I brought this home I spent some time wiping it down very gently with some paper towels soaked in denatured alcohol. I wiped away the terrible decals to reveal a nice green paint

Can anyone recommend a trusted online dealer that has an original chinstrap in stock?

are you really willing to spend 200 euros on an original chinstrap for that helmet ?
would be wiser to have spent it on a better helmet , but that's just my opinion.
