    Hello
I found this Liner in an Postwar refurbished Hungarian M38 and I am not shure about that
I am never seen before that the shellsize is printed inside the leather it is in wonderful condition
I am came to this opinion because the 2 endings of the liner were not equal see on the last picture
I need an second opinion to this linerpiece
Is it a original leather for a size 70 shell helmet or a Normal leather for a 62 shell helmet
The 54 ink stamp is postwar made by the Firedepartment
    Best regards

I think it used to be a size 60 or 61 leather which was cut down to size also resulting in part of the ink stamp on the inside being cut off.
From what I have observed the number on the inside of the leather is always 1-2 more than the head size stamped on the "visible" side of the leather.
I'd say that the number on the inside is the actual length of the piece of leather and because of the way it is sewn together it results in it being 1-2 hat sizes less.
