Q62 Luftwaffe Opinion

hey lads here is my Q62 Single decal luftwaffe M40 lot#DN81,the decal is perfect on this one,when you run your finger over this decal
its like the decal is not there & it has become a part of the shell,like its sunk into the shell,unlike some decals where you can feel the decal,the decal has turned a yellow colour from age as you will see,i have a repro strap on this one,purely decorational,which i probably will remove cause a genuine helmet needs a genuine strap in my book.this is such a small helmet,i like to think its a Hitler Jugend Stahlhelm.

That is a beauty, I believe the yellowing decal is from the laquer application, I love that aged look, I agree about the chinstrap, it does not match the helmet at all, maybe get a better aged one?

Dave I think your right a second look at this makes me see how bright the leather is on the chin strap compared to the liner

Maybe GEL is suggesting to get both a good strap and a good liner to replace those?

Hi,i agree on the strap,looks to shiny and the leather is rather thick too.The strap aside,i really LOVE the helmet itself,it has a lovely toned decal on it.Gives off a real sense of age and history. Leon.
