    Hello Gentleman,

new found: One of the first test helmets at the beginning of the early 1930s for the Berlin fire brigade. Here a Vulkanfiber helmet made by Robert Lubstein Berlin. Note that the comb is not made of cast aluminum, but sheet steel. It's DRGM stamped. DRGM is also stamped on the metal border. The ventilation screens are made of brass.

    Hello,
interesting helmet, it would be nice to have pictures of the interior, chin strap, neck protector ...
The final helmet produced by EREL and worn until the 1950s does not have the crest ...
For info and non-German speakers: DRGM = Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchs Muster, now DIN standard

Lubstein produced in East Germany, but not with DRGM or DIN. In East Germany it was TGL (Technischen Normen, Gütevorschriften und Lieferbedingungen)

so what ? here it is DRGM on a R.Lubstein (EREL) helmet produced in the Reich ... after the war EREL became VEB Perfekt with the TGL standard

I have never seen a fiber-helm with a comb but this one does appear to me to have been manufactured pre 1945 - the ridge on the metal rim around the apron is what you want to see. (Picture 3)

That's right. The helmet here is from the 30s. But shortly after the war, Lubstein was still producing under his name before it was expropriated and it became VEB Perfect.

The Berlin fire brigade tested several helmet models made of different materials in the early 1930s. There were even leather models. There are also pictures from a German fire brigade historian.
