Thoughts on this DD M40 helmet?

Hello again lads and ladies

I stumbled upon this DD M40 helmet which I hoped the more experienced eyes could take a look at. According to the seller the chinstrap has been replaced with a new one at some point and he couldn't find any maker stamps inside the helmet. Also I don't know about the decals but looks like they could be fakes, specially don't like the look on the eagle one, but you guys tell me what your thoughts are, cheers and thanks in advance

I'm not an expert in this field, but I think this is a helmet in a relic condition that has been badly restored. Wait for more opinions.

DD M40 helmets are exceptionally rare, and the chances of this being one is extremely remote. As already said, it looks like a restored lid with decals applied over pitting. Give it a miss.

Definitely one to keep your hands in your pockets with! Interestingly, the Heer "decal" doesn't even look like a fake decal, but rather a hand painted one.

Thanks for your input, yea that was somewhat my first guess when I saw it aswell but like you I'm no expert so that's why I handed it over for your ppl's analysis, and now I know too stay clear of this one

Yea I was not fond of the decals either which lead me to my biggest concern about it being authentic, but I will for sure keep walking away from this one

Yea It has come to my attention it is indeed yikes with this helmet

The eagle doesn't seem to be a decal at all. It looks to my eyes to be hand painted.
