It was one of many antique shows in the UK that is no longer in production.

Apparently it was called History Hunters and only ran for one series!

I'm beginning to think the UK is the hotbed for "moody" helmets.

History Hunters is/was the title of the series following dealers War & Son Medals & Military Antiques, based in Leominster, UK. Having seen their website in the past I would say TR Militaria isn't their speciality, they hadn't noticed a wrong ribbon on a KVKii medal they had for sale. If they were selling this I expect it wasn't cheap.

However, I have been reminded that there was also an earlier CH4 series of the same name starring Tony Robinson, so it may be that this colourful lid is from this earlier programme?

There is a lot of crud in the UK unfortunately. There are better sites in Europe and USA.

In a tv show it could have starred but not on a soldier’s head during WW2 looking like that.
