What does it matter what you call it , it is not a helmet used in WW2. But someone though it looked close enough to add a fake adler and you thought it worth to ask for opinions...
I would call it a turd even though it does not look like one.

Hi Chris.
It looks like a home made attempt using some kind of steel helmet that has been cut down to 'mimic' a Fallschirmjäger helmet. I say this because of the shape, paint colour and 'eagle' decal. It is not a ww2 period helmet and has no collector value unfortunately.

It too thought is was cut down, given the liner suspension system.
I do think it is a real helmet. But just not WW2 German. Nor does it have any value beyond scrap and it would have been worth more untouched unfortunately.
