What on earth is this?

Anyone seen something like this before? It looks a bit like a Himmler style civic helmet and a prototype 3, but then again not.

Helmet made of vulkanfibre (fiberglass). EREL was a large supplier of these, they were produced from the 30's (NS era lightweight parade helms) through 50's/60's with at least three versions of the shell (DDR fire service). These have been/are used by non-German militaries particularly Chile.
