White M34 Medium Duty Helmet

I purchased this helmet a few months ago. It was described as a medics helmet which I thought unlikely! I’m guessing the glossy white paint over the green is post war. I’m very much against messing with helmets and usually leave as is but I’d consider removing the white if it is post war, at some point someone has given the sides a scrape looking for decals. Size 64. There is a small stamp or part of one on the right side of the skirt which I am unable to identify, doesn't look like an Edelstahl stamp to me. Any input much appreciated! Cheers! J.
