I would be tempted to say yes its a childs play helmet or a patriotic helmet, but it could be one designed for injured veterans to wear at ceremonies, its got many possible uses

Well ive heard that there were very light weight helmets in use by injured soldiers, especially those with head wounds, to wear on parades etc, also period childrens helmets made from light metals, whether to use in play or as a patriotic symbol, but im not sure its ww2, it could be ww1 or between those periods, if you think about it there is a fair bit of detail involved in a crude way, it certainly wouldnt fool anyone as a combat helmet , as for post war, i cant see they would make something like that , especially as there were so many helmets available at the time, i wonder if Doug or Frank or Jim has seen anything like it

I would say it is a period, circa 1930's, childs play helmet.

There you go, Ade is thinking along the same lines, are there any makers marks etc , ie , toy manufacturers, most german toys were marked

My Kinderhelm is actually un marked. So don't worry too much about markings. I suspect the markings on the packaging would have been enough to sell it.

    Cheers, Ade.
