In my opinion an authentic Army Officers Lionhead Sword. I believe to be Alcoso Model Nr. 119. See what Larry, Frogprince, Anderson, Horst and other blade peers think as well.

    Thank you.
I have just studied this thread and also the first thread and Michael Ryan explains according to him for this saber a "quite scarce rarity".
While doing research I also found the same Alcoso 119 saber in the collection of Tom Kendall, apart from the marking of the blade which is AWS stamped marker mark and therefore after 1941 and elsewhere it is exactly the same for the army's Alcoso daggers ...
So to summarize we can say more exactly rarity Quite scarce and manufacture before 1941.
Thank you all for your help

    Regards

Yes. Interesting. Have seen many Alcoso Sabers for sale in my 35 years of collecting on dealer sites, auctions and militaria shows. I would agree a nice sabre but not a rarity. Just another blade collectors opinion here. Rossi

    +1

Also take in consideration that regular army swords (not included the rare damast steel pieces) are not as collectible as daggers due to their size, and prices do not go up very hard.
In fact they are pretty much the same as some 10 years ago.
Always a nice addition having a nice quality sword like this, but my advice: only buy when price is more then right.
Ask Michael Ryan, he has a cellar full of swords, but mostly bought for the right price
